Psychotherapy and coaching are mysterious but simple practices: something magical happens when two people come together in the spirit of vulnerability and healing. For me, nothing is more important than the connection I establish with my clients. And indeed, all the research points to the power of this very thing: the tighter the alliance, the more impactful the therapy.

My grounding is in humanistic therapy: which posits that we all have the ability to grow when encircled by empathy, safety, and insightful questions. I also approach much of my work from a Buddhist perspective, which could mean starting sessions with a few minutes of breath work, and learning to watch our thoughts without judgement.

One unique aspect of my work is how it dovetails with my radio work on Life Examined. I am constantly in conversation with leading psychologists, scientists and writers — all of whom have important things to say about the human condition. This ultimately gives me more tools and perspectives to bring to my clients.

I am drawn to working with goal-oriented people, particularly athletes, artists and leaders. Accomplishing big things can come with big costs personally and emotionally. As a competitive athlete and musician myself, I have first-hand knowledge of the sacrifices it takes to pursue these dreams. For me, it is a privilege to work with people though these periods of growth.

I offer traditional therapy in the state of Colorado where I am licensed, and mental performance coaching in any state.
